About the WIOA Program

The Workforce Innovation Opportunities Act (WIOA) Program is a federal grant under the Department of Labor. Services provided to participants promote an increase in the employment, job retention, earnings, and occupational skills improvement by participants.  NOTE: The program is designed to provide assistance with new employment/education goals that begin after the intake process has been completed.

This, in turn, improves the quality of the workforce, reduces welfare dependency, and improves the productivity and competitiveness of the nation.

Ya-Ka-Ama's WIOA Program is under the Division of Indian and Native American Program (DINAP) and was established to facilitate economic self-sufficiency through employment and job training for Native Americans.
